Catfish The Movie made a big splash at Sundance and it’s released this Friday, 17th Sept in the US. If the build-up currently going on across the net draws in enough people I’m guessing it may well come to the UK. Watch the trailer below to see what all the fuss is about.
In late 2007, filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost sensed a story unfolding as they began to film the life of Ariel’s brother, Nev, a 24-year-old New York photographer. He is contacted on facebook by Abby, an eight year old, who asks him whether she can paint one of his photographs. After receiving the painting he begins to correspond with her family and takes an interest in her older sister Megan…a cyber romance ensues and Nev and his friends then embark on a road-trip…
They had no idea that their project would lead to the most exhilarating and unsettling months of their lives. A reality thriller that is a shocking product of our times, Catfish is a riveting story of love, deception and grace within a labyrinth of online intrigue.
