Carson McHone has shared a video for The Canvas and announced her first run of UK and European headline shows since releasing Pentimento, her third album, in September 2025 via Merge Records.
When we reviewed Pentimento, we called it “a dense, multi-faceted tapestry, with fragments of poetry, spoken verse, field recordings, pastoral folk, guitar and chamber pop, amply demonstrating the benefits of a more collaborative approach on this audacious gem.” Written in the Texas desert and recorded on the Canadian coast, it examines life’s shifting circumstances and the disquiet of the world at large — McHone’s most profound work to date.
The video lands as McHone prepares to cross the Atlantic late this summer, fitting the run in between extensive North American touring as a member of Daniel Romano’s Outfit. Collaboration sits at the front of her practice these days, and for this tour she’s teaming up with past tour pal Max Kinghorn-Mills to build a band drawn from his own Hollow Hand, plus three performances as a trio with Kinghorn-Mills and multi-disciplinary artist Fliss Horrocks. Bills along the way include Sister Wives, Birds Flying Backwards, Manchester’s The Be Positives, and fellow Texans Little Mazarn and Garrett T. Capps.
The headline dates run through August and September, with a slot at End of the Road Festival in Tollard Royal.
