Martin Simpson’s Skydancers is a beautifully packaged album. The music exudes class and quality, but what impresses most is the restraint. No notes are wasted and all instrumental flourishes land, enhancing each song. It is an excellent record from a master of his craft.

Martin Simpson is back on the road with a very long list of tour dates. This year also marks the 20th Anniversary of Martin’s album “The Bramble Briar”, an English folk gem if ever there was one. He has also written a new song for Hen Harrier Day titled ‘Sky Dancer’.

There is something pure and beautiful about ‘Home Recordings’ that finely balances and sets it apart from any other Martin Simpson album I can think of. A wonderful achievement and gratefully received.
