Often referred to as Canada’s greatest songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot’s influence has undeniably been huge. He’s credited with helping to define the folk-pop sound of the 60’s and 70’s and his songs have been covered by artists that include Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Sandy Denny (with Fotheringay), The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, Scott Walker and many more. UK fans will therefore be pleased to hear that he has announced a UK and Ireland Tour in 2016, his first in 35 years.
