The 6th Film from PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake has been released. The 12 films made by Seamus Murphy set out to capture and interpret the idea of England. The film focuses “on the sound of the song itself which has a melancholic, tragic lilt to it, like a resigned love song of acceptance.” Watch England below.

West London based 5 piece band the Treetop Flyers have just signed to Communion Records and will be releasing a 10” single titled Things Will Change. Watch their latest video.

I Am Oak is formed around the central figure of dutch singer-songwriter Thijs Kuijken who manipulates minimalistic sounds into complex gentle sound arrays using voice as the main backbone complemented by guitar, banjo, organ, minimalistic beats and samples, all put together from his bedroom.

In August 2010, French film maker Vincent Moon went to the Baltic island of Als where he met up with the Danish eight piece band, Efterklang. The objective was to shoot a film. A film with the same length as an album, and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations. The results went way beyond their expectations.

Appears to be a Record Day feature run by Sony to encourage all you folks out there that fancy a go at mixing…not sure about the idea personally but they pull it off ok (if you like the idea of killing a good song)…watch the video below:

EELS have surprised fans by announcing a World Tour. This will be their first tour since the release of their album trilogy (HOMBRE LOBO, END TIMES, TOMORROW MORNING) in 2010. To kick things off they are giving away a free track from each album which you can grab below.
