We caught up with Other Lives’ songwriter and frontman Jesse Tabish at North London venue The Lexington to discuss his chamber-pop project’s current release Tamer Animals, touring and classical music.

Our latest live session is from Edinburgh singer/songwriter Adam Holmes who now at the age of twenty has been a Celtic Connections Young Traditional Musician finalist and in February this year achieved the huge accolade of a Radio 2 Folk Award nomination for Best Newcomer.

Northern Latitudes was inspired by two field recordings made by Chris Watson for a CD called ‘The Sea Ice Border’. It comprises of two recordings: 89 24 N Below and 89 24 N Above. Both feature in the mix at the beginning and end. The music in between was chosen based on the feel of those sounds.

Our latest FRUK Session is from You Are Wolf, the pseudonym of London based composer and performer Kerry Andrew, who has just released her debut EP Hunting Little Songs. You Are Wolf is taking traditional folk and twisting it on its head to create a unique and new sound, stripped back to its bare bones.
