South London saxophonist, singer-songwriter, electronic producer, and field recordist Laura Misch released her second album, Lithic, in June this year via One Little Independent Records. Earlier this month, she followed up with Lithic (Live at the Barbican), a live recording captured at her largest headline show to date. From that deeply immersive album and the ritualistic visual world she created for the Barbican performance to represent the elemental worlds of air, water and stone, she has now presented one of her most intimate renditions from that album.
Joined on piano by acclaimed musician, composer and producer Alfa Mist, this live session, recorded in the comfort of a home, draws the song into a more intimate setting.
Laura Misch says: “Three years ago I recorded Alfa playing this piano part and waited for the right shade of album to come along to plant it within. It eventually found its home in Jealousea, stripped back to its minimalist form. I’ve known Alfa for over ten years and always loved his playing so deeply, so it felt very special to breathe new life into it together. So here it is, in full, from beginning to end.”
