Enjoy a trip off the beaten track, a place where borders don’t exist and where creative freedom is the only constant. In this latest mixtape, Ukraine’s Heinali & Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko‘s explores Western medieval music tradition through modular synthesis, Aziz Balouch merges of Sufi poetry in Persian, Sindhi, Hindi and Arabic with various forms of Andalusian song in Spanish, tartine de clous sit around a table singing traditional songs from the West of France, Chaz Knapp improvises outdoors in the dead of winter, F.Ampism invites listeners into a singular sound-world of quietly ecstatic wonder and Thorn Wych, a musical instrument maker and musician based in the Lancashire town of Bacup, evokes memories of an unknown world through instruments made from the tree branches, including Wych Elm, Lime, Wild Cherry, Oak, and Yew. You can also hear new music from two recently reviewed albums: D.C Cross‘ Open Guitar (Volume One) and Nyahh Records‘ An Irish Almanac of Noise and Experimental Music From 2025.
