Before we get into the details of this week’s Monday Morning Brew playlist, I dropped a new Mixtape on Friday, so in case you missed that, check it out here.

This week’s playlist opens with the lead single from a new Claddagh Records release: James Joyce’s Pomes Penyeach. A unique project comprising the poetry of James Joyce reinterpreted into song. The lyrical basis for the album comes from Joyce’s collection of 13 poems of the same name, first published in 1927. Composed by Adrian Crowley & Matthew Nolan, the pair have assembled a stunning ensemble with some of Ireland’s foremost contemporary players; Lisa Hannigan (voice), Sean Mac Erlaine (reeds & electronics) and Kevin Murphy (cello & pedal).

Other notable tracks include Fava, the lead single from Broken Homes and Gardens, the final studio album from Michael Hurley, read more here.

There’s also music from Macie Stewart, David Allred, Joshua Burnside, Marissa Nadler, Stelios Petrakis, Sir Richard Bishop, Avice Caro, Fuubutsushi, C Joynes & Mike Gangloff, The Innocence Mission, MJ Lenderman, Damien Jurado, ØXN, Nathan Salsburg, Scott McMicken and more.
