Slow Moving Clouds have announced that they will release their third studio album Kolmas on Friday, May 19th 2023, described as a deeper dive into their dreamscape world, weaving Finnish and Irish traditional textures with post-punk drones and contemporary classical shades. The trio of Aki, Ultan O Brien and Kevin Murphy use the Nordic instrument the Nycklelharpa, alongside the Fiddle, Viola, Cello and voice to create their distinctive and singular sound.
Today [Friday 7th April], they share the lead single ‘The Longest Lie’. The song taps into the sense of ideological upheaval currently being experienced globally. People are no longer accepting the old narratives justifying inequality and the song speaks to this sense of defiance. ‘The Longest Lie’ is also out Song of the Day.

Kolmas is Slow Moving Clouds most original work to date, pushing boundaries, and providing a unique compliment to the current tide of alternative folk waves spreading across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
The release will be supported by an Irish tour in June 2023.
