Slow Moving Clouds

Irish alternative trad/folk trio Rattling Ark — featuring cellist Kevin Murphy of Slow Moving Clouds, with Thomas Haugh and Lizzi Murtough — announce their debut album Top of a Mountain, out 19 June 2026. The first single, ‘Leprechaun’, taken from the singing of Maggie Barry, arrives with an astonishing video by Brian Kelly and a deranged violyra solo from guest performer Aki.

Taken from their forthcoming third studio album Kolmas, Slow Moving Clouds share their video for ‘The Longest Lie’, also our Song of the Day. The song taps into the sense of ideological upheaval currently being experienced globally.

Watch the new video from Dublin-based trio Slow Moving Clouds. ‘Under the City’ is the second track on new album Starfall, an original song which has emerged from experimenting with Finnish and Irish folk influences. They are to perform at Celtic Connections alongside Lisa O’Neill next year.

Starfall is a natural follow-up to Slow Moving Clouds debut, on which members draw inspiration from Irish and Nordic traditions. An intriguing and compelling album.

Building on the success of their 2015 debut album Os, Dublin-based band Slow Moving Clouds announce second album, Starfall, and share video for lead single Trin.
