Before we dive in, I should congratulate Hiss Golden Messenger for receiving their first Grammy® nomination for the 2019 album Terms of Surrender, which is up for Best Americana Album. Matt McGinn reviewed the album for Folk Radio UK here – needless to say, he was hooked within a few bars of its opening track – it was also in our Best Albums of 2019.
Back to the present and Hiss Golden Messenger has released a soulful new track “Sanctuary” with an accompanying video which you can watch below. The song was written and produced by bandleader/songwriter M.C. Taylor. The KidEthnic-directed music video features Taylor singing of reconciliation and hope, along with some beautiful young faces.
