This week’s Folk Show has a fairly strong Irish leaning with a sprinkling of Scottish numbers alongside a number of American folk artists including Cinder Well, Sally Anne Morgan, House and Land and Sam Amidon.
Following last week’s show, we revisit LAU‘s new Folk Songs EP; plus we have new music from Gaol, meaning ‘Love’, the title of the long-awaited studio album from Lochaber singer, songwriter, composer and tutor Rachel Walker, a double helping of The Deadlians with music from their new album The Connacht Peep Show (out now on Bandcamp). A track from Sally Anne Morgan‘s Thread and another helping from Solas an Lae from Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin & Ultan O’Brien.
Sam Amidon‘s new self-titled album is also revisted alongside a track from Sean & Michael Gavin, as featured on the new compilation from Raelach Records – Rogha Raelach Volume 1.
For the finale, we end on the new single from The Haar with The Parting Glass, the video for which we premiered here.
All this plus some not so recent offerings from Skipper’s Alley, The Bonny Men, The Mary Wallopers, Cinder Well, House and Land, Martin Hayes Quartet, Varo and Lankum.
