This week’s mix is a little early as I’m about to head off to WOMAD – but this offering certainly isn’t rushed. It features two new releases – the new single from Ryley Walker titled The Roundabout (we featured the video for it this week) and a brand new track from Ross Ainslie and Ali Hutton‘s (image above) new album Symbiosis due out on 9th September. The track, called Smiler also features musicians Duncan Lyall on double bass and Martin O’Neill on bodhran. I also snuck in a track from Rachel Newton whose new videos we shared this week.
There are some favourites scattered amongst the mix from some of the most wonderfully atmospheric singers I’ve played over the years including Tiny Ruins, Piers Faccini, Aldous Harding, Nancy Wallace, Danny Schmidt and My Bubba.
There’s also a few older classic gems in there including Tim Hardin, Bert Jansch and Mick Hanly & Mícheál O Dhomhnaill.
Enjoy!
