We have a video premiere today from M.G. Boulter for ‘The Last Song‘, a song that tears-along like that stolen bicycle in the film, it’s taken from his new album With Wolves The Lamb Will Lie due for released on 29 January 2016 via Harbour Song Records.
With Wolves The Lamb Will Lie is M G Boulter’s second full length album release, following 2013’s The Water And The Wave. That first album was rooted in the shores of the Thames Delta, a reflection of the time he was spending away from home. On this new album though he heads to the peak district of Sheffield, with Andy Bell (Bellowhead, Seasick Steve and Teenage Fanclub, as well as BBC Folk Album of the Year 2014 winner) on production duties and a staggeringly brilliant band featuring Ben Nicholls (The Full English, Seth Lakeman), Toby Kearney (These New Puritans), Sheffield songwriter Neil McSweeney and folk artist Lucy Farrell, among others.
You can’t remove home from the heart however so expect more weird and wonderful coastal characters that inhabit Boulter’s songs.
