I recently came across this short documentary film about a man called Richard. I knew the film was part of the England Your England documentary series which aims to “present the diversity of personal stories that define us as individuals, communities and as a nation”, so I was expecting a powerful story. But not this…
Richard lives in London, he’s a piano tuner and he’s chosen to live outdoors. Richard’s story is both surprising and inspiring…one day he sold everything he owned. 18 months later he was debt-free and a happier person. Along with his bike and a bag of belongings he ventured down a road less travelled.
Update: Since writing this post I came across Richard’s website. So for those of you with lots of questions about how he gets by or you’d like him to tune your piano, head here: http://www.piano-tuning.co.uk/
