In June last year Simon visited St Pancras Old Church for a very special evening with Blue Rose Code for the launch of his second album The Ballads Of Peckham Rye which we featured as one of our Albums of the Month. His final sentence of that review summed the experience up neatly: “With the Kings Cross night sky as my witness, this has been an evening to remember” (review here).
It’s not often that you get to share in such moments but in this case you can. Sam Inglis from Sound On Sound Magazine came to record the one-off, seven piece performance, featuring the amazing Hiatus on keys and MG Boulter on pedal steel, along with Dan Paton on drums, Jessica Moncrieff on violin, Samantha Whates on vocals and John Parker on double bass.
On the 6th of April 2015, Blue Rose Code releases Live At St Pancras Old Church, London 2014 and he’ll also be touring the UK with his trio (dates below). Here’s an exclusive premiere of ‘The Light of You‘ from that album:
