Like most of my mixes there’s normally a particular track that leads me down an unplanned path, one that shapes the mix, it never goes where I expect it which is why I get such a kick from doing them. For the latest in our Discovered & Unearthed series it was thanks to a vinyl copy of Tissø Lake’s The Hollow Wood And Wondrous Cold which I spent some of the morning listening to on repeat. For anyone unfamiliar with Tissø Lake it’s the recording project of Ian Humberstone alongside a lengthy list of co-conspirators from the UK.
As a result, the mix is quite atmospheric featuring a host of wonderful leftfield artists, some better known (to FRUK listeners at least) than others such as Mary Hampton, Rachael Dadd, Plinth, and The Magic Lantern alongside some lesser knowns such as Silver Servants, Lutine, Sourdeline and Cove Hithe. There are plenty of new offerings on this mix which I dare say will be new to many.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.
