Today we have a very special Song of the Day from Blue Rose Code whose début album North Ten was our Album of the Month earlier this year. One of our favourite tracks from the album was ‘Whitechapel‘ for which we have an exclusive video première below:
Whitechapel is the lead song of a new four track EP, available to download from 4th November. Taken from the highly rated album, North Ten, the EP also features three unreleased new songs.
Speaking about the inspirations behind the song Whitechapel Ross Wilson says, “When I moved to London from Edinburgh I was looking for an escape, to get lost in the crowd. Instead what I found was a sense of community that I’d never known, an acceptance, a diversity and art amidst the guts and grime. Whitechapel speaks of my love and gratitude.”
Returning fresh from his recent appearance as part of ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris’ BBC Introducing Showcase at Nashville’s Americana Festival, Blue Rose Code commence a UK tour throughout October, culminating in a show at London’s historic Cecil Sharp House on Wednesday 13th November.
