Our monthly resident host Daniel Green (Laish / Sons of Noel and Adrian) returns from the wilds of winter with a live session from avant jazz composer, poet and skewed pop songwriter Alabaster DePlume, plus studio guest Rory Dickenson, who as OCDC composes piano suites and documents lo-fi pop.
“Alabaster dePlume delights in his own confusion. He embraces it. It makes him look a bit pretentious, sometimes, but in the end, it is deeply sincere. He seems to feel he ought to share certain things, just in case everyone else was just too afraid to mention it first. He’s been described as “Harrowingly funny”. He works with Debt Records in his hometown Manchester, and performs poetry and song around the UK, in festivals.., bars and concert halls. He works as accompanist for Liz Green, Honeyfeet, Jamie Harrison and others. In his own work he is accompanied by John Ellis, Paddy Steer, Hannah Miller (Moulettes) and others.” Keith Hilling/Neo:blog
In May he released a debut LP, that was the focus of two years devotion, that crosses disciplines and artforms, and that has been hailed as a rare, unique and indeed “great” piece of work by the few who have been exposed to it.
