WOMEX – the World Music Expo, have announced that the world-famous Kronos Quartet are to receive the 2018 WOMEX Artist Award and will conclude WOMEX 18 with a live concert in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

After a five year absence, British artists are returning to the Womex world music convention this year: Juju, a collaboration between guitarist Justin Adams and Gambian griot Juldeh Camara; a figurehead of English folk music, Eliza Carthy performing with her new band; and Krar Collective.
