It’s been a while since we last heard from Urban Folk Quartet, but now, after an eight-year gap, they are back. We caught up with the band to chat about their new album True Story.

After a festival-packed summer, The genre-defying Urban Folk Quartet continue to celebrate their year-long 10th anniversary with an Autumn 2019 tour.

The Urban Folk Quartet, one of the most exciting and vibrant bands on the UK acoustic/ roots scene, are heading back out on the road for their annual autumn tour.

Peter shares his highlights of the first ever Walton Folk Festival, a sold-out event with afternoon and evening sessions and a lineup of acts that could grace established folk festivals many times its size.

The Urban Folk Quartet are to head the lineup of exciting folk and acoustic acts at the first ever folk festival in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey. They will be joined by The Outside Track, Kitty MacFarlane, Kim Lowings & The Greenwood and more.

Following the success of their Live III album tour, The Urban Folk Quartet head back out on the road for a series of shows that will see the band travel from the South of Devon to the Scottish Borders.

The Escape as an album already comes highly recommended and as the centre piece of a live gig it proved to be irresistible. UFQ have done it again, ensuring their live shows continue to provide top notch entertainment that really has to be experienced.

With a new line up including Dan Walsh, Paloma, Joe and Tom have pushed the UFQ to new heights and The Escape offers exactly that with myriad musical highlights and global grooves to get lost in for months. This is the band at their brilliant best so make sure you catch them live on their current tour.

We have a double treat for you today from Urban Folk Quartet with a Song and a Tune of the Day. The very first on Folk Radio UK which maybe says more about how excited we are about their new album ‘The Escape’ which is out May 1st. Catch them on Tour from May.
