The Hanging Stars

While “Morning Dew” may be recognised as Bonnie Dobson’s most iconic track, on her new album, Dreams, she showcases a collection of impressive new compositions. Partnering with the UK’s The Hanging Stars, her sound is infused with renewed vitality, resulting in a brilliantly fruitful collaboration. We can only hope that there will be more to come.

Canadian folk singer Bonnie Dobson teams up with psychedelic cowboys The Hanging Stars for new album, Dreams, and premieres lead single and video ‘Baby’s Got The Blues’…” She performs like it’s the Carnegie Hall every time.”

In discussing their latest album, On A Golden Shore, The Hanging Stars asked, “Wow, what did we do there?”. It’s a sentiment listeners are sure to echo on hearing this impressive offering.

The Hanging Stars’ last three albums saw them teetering on greatness. Wearing their cosmic country and late 60s West Coast folk-rock influences on their sleeve, Hollow Heart should rightly push them over the edge; it’s their best yet.

Lyrically and musically The Hanging Stars use A New Kind Of Sky to chart a new course through the folk-rock minefield. Along the way, they establish a new pathway to the future by revisiting but not idolizing the past.

Following the release of their new album Songs for Somewhere Else out on Crimson Crow, The Hanging Stars have released their new single “For You (My Blue Eyed Son)”, which coincides with their tour with GospelbeacH.

Songs for Somewhere Else is another worthy addition to the British branch of the Parsons legacy library curated by the likes of Teenage Fan Club, The Goat Roper Band and Lewis & Leigh.
