The Felice Brothers
This seems to be the year for artists finding their Dylan goes electric moment. I can’t pindown any reason for it but the new sounds are great entertainment. Take a listen to a track from The Felice Brothers forthcoming album Celebration, Florida. Unexpected 808s, ambient synth lines, primitive drum beats, heavy bass lines…rave beats, and sinister acid jazz that captivates and mystifies.
This August will mark the limited release of Simone Felice – Live From A Lonely Place. Recorded at home (in the barn) just a few weeks after his heart surgery, this retrospective collection includes songs from the earliest Felice Brother days, Duke & King favorites, and the traditional Celtic waltz ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ arranged by Simone.
Some great news on the line-up for this years Open House Festival which is looking like the Americana gig of the year! The Dave Rawlings Machine, fronted by long-time musical partner of Americana singer songwriter Gillian Welch, are to play an exclusive Irish debut at this year’s Open House Festival in Belfast on Saturday 11th September.
