Spencer Cullum
Spencer Cullum finds comfort in retellings of folk narratives that seek to make sense of the present day. With Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection 3, he’s provided a richly satisfying conclusion to his trilogy of albums. Born from a need to reconnect with the place that shaped him, the trilogy has also become a platform for the generous, collaborative spirit of the Nashville community he now calls home.
Spencer Cullum opens the door to his Nashville garden shed for the latest Off the Shelf — the makeshift studio where Coin Collection 3 came to life. The final chapter of his trilogy finds the British pedal steel player turning to English folklore for solace amid the noise of the modern world. His ten objects tell the story.
Spencer Cullum has shared ‘Look at the Moon,’ a new single featuring Erin Rae, ahead of his album Coin Collection 3 (out March 27th via Full Time Hobby). Written as a tribute to his wife and her Nashville bookshop, the track circles around a quiet mantra—”Days might feel gloom / Look at the moon”—finding beauty in the patient work of building something meaningful together.
Spencer Cullum concludes his acclaimed trilogy with Coin Collection 3, arriving 27th March via Full Time Hobby. Lead single “Rowan Tree” is out now, accompanied by a surreal, hand-drawn music video by Gaia Alari. Blending English folklore with Nashville craftsmanship, the track serves as a haunting remedy for modern reality, featuring Alari’s evocative visuals that explore the clash between man and nature.
Nashville trio Shrunken Elvis—Spencer Cullum, Sean Thompson, and Rich Ruth—share their dreamlike new single, “K-House.” The track blends sharp, psychedelic guitar with a downtempo dance groove, landing somewhere between dreamy kosmische and an ’80s cop show soundtrack. It’s a preview of their self-titled debut album, out September 5th, a project guided by intuition and a philosophy of “no goals, just ideas.”
