song of the day

Poor Creature today share their new single and video ‘Bury Me Not’, a song about a young sailor whose dying wish (not to be buried at sea) is ignored. It’s taken from their imminent debut album ‘All Smiles Tonight’, which is released on Friday (11th July, 2025), via River Lea Records.

Modern Nature are set to release their new full-length, The Heat Warps, on August 29th via Bella Union. Accompanying the announcement is the release of “Pharaoh,” a track that immediately distinguishes itself as a potent, motorik throb, hinting at a sharpened focus from a band increasingly unafraid to push their own boundaries.

Our Song of the Day comes from Lila Tristram, whose new single ‘Overtake’ is released today. Tristram isn’t afraid of sharing her inner thoughts, but how she presents them makes them outstanding and memorable. There’s a melancholic shimmer to her delivery that does recall some of the classic contemporary folk singers of the past, and she wholeheartedly deserves those comparisons to Drake and Mitchell.

Sam Grassie has shared a video for the title track of his latest album, Jarabi, Winter has Gone, described as a marriage of celtic trad and malian blues. Dennis O’Brien filmed the video while they cycled across eastern Europe.

Lorraine Nash unveils her new single, “Carraig Aonair,” her first in the Irish language. The single arrives ahead of a busy summer schedule, notably including dates as a special guest of Hothouse Flowers on their UK tour.

Our Song of the Day is ‘Now & Then’, the new single from Queens, NY, musician Wolf van Elfmand featuring the legendary Karl Blau. The song is a simple yearning for some good fortune.

Taken from her new album OPHELIA, Angeline Morrison shares a music video for He Comes in the Night – “a ghost story that is also a love story. The imagined beloved vanishes with each new day, leaving only motes of dust and memories…”

Our Song of the Day comes from Liv Greene with the poignant, vibrant and beautifully crafted ‘Katie’, a song from her new album Deep Feeler, due out October 18th on Free Dirt Records.

Taken from his forthcoming new album, Interloper, Jack Cheshire shares Willy Robinson’s Van Sant-inspired music video for ‘Valium’—an offbeat gem that lingers long and unfolds slowly. This is worth spending some time on…also our Song of the Day.

Haley Heynderickx has shared ‘Seed of a Seed’, her first new song since her 2018 debut record, I Need to Start a Garden. It’s a stunning offering and also our Song of the Day.

Taken from his latest album, Glookies Guit, watch the accompanying short film to Australian guitarist D.C Cross’s new single, ‘Rhinestones, in Black and White’, also our Tune of the Day.

Taken from their forthcoming new album, Are Possible, Nathan Bowles Trio return today with their latest single and video, Our Air. Beautifully crafted and visceral, it’s also our Song of the Day.
