Skerryvore are excited to announce the introduction of a new member to their musician lineup. Scott Wood will join the band, playing pipes and whistles. His first on-stage appearances will be next month.

This year’s MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards shortlist is announced and voting is now open to the public. We’ve put together a preview of many of the nominations which you can listen to here.

The Scott Wood Band have delivered a stunning first album and it seems only natural that their already successful career is going to flourish yet again. They have set the bar extremely high, not only for any future recordings that they release, but also for other tune orientated folk bands across the UK.

Our Song of the Day is from the bagpipe-driven Scott Wood Band with a piece composed by the late Martyn Bennett. Their debut album is due out in August 2015 and with the solid reputation they’ve managed to build that album will create quite a fanfare.
