The shortlisted nominees for the Scots Trad Music Awards 2024 are revealed including Ryan Young, Project Smok, Laura Jane Wilkie, Malin Lewis, Kinnaris Quintet and many more.

After a decade, the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards return to the city of Inverness on St Andrews Day (30th November) to once again celebrate and showcase Scotland’s flourishing traditional music scene.

The 21st MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards took place on 2nd December, winners include Duncan Chisholm, Julie Fowlis, Iona Fyfe, Eilidh Cormack, Trail West, Blazin’ Fiddles, Heidi Talbot and more.

The MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards nominations open today. Performances confirmed for the ceremony include Peatbog Faeries, Joy Dunlop, Mànran, Amy Laurenson Trio, Duncan Chisholm, Karine Polwart and Dave Milligan. There will also be a tribute to Robbie Shepherd.

The MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards will return to Dundee on Saturday, 2nd December. There will be performances from Peatbog Faeries, Karine Polwart and Dave Milligan, Duncan Chisholm and more on the night.

We were in Perth on Saturday, for the annual The MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. It certainly has been another great year – as Hands up for Trad Creative Director Simon Thoumire said “There is so much vitality in the scene right now and it is only getting stronger. Roll on 2019.”
