Trawling through these lost songs I never thought would see the light of day was definitely a favourite aspect of this release. But no one would describe it as one of the best Fairport Convention albums…

Whilst not a full-on festive offering, our latest mix does contain some festive cheer from Steve Tilston & Maggie Boyle, Tim Laycock, Richard Farina With Blind Boy Grunt (better known as Bob Dylan) & Eric Von Schmidt, and some top-notch wassailing from John Kirkpatrick. Plus classics from the likes of John Martyn, Sandy Denny, Hamish Imlach and Richard Thompson and some great new music and a wee delve into Topic …

Some fine vintage folk in this week’s mix from the likes of Sandy Denny, Michael Raven and Joan Mills, Skara Brae and more. There is some dabbling in psych courtesy of Ben Tweddell’s Twelve Hides which was released in August as well as Toby Hay’s new EP which we recently featured in an exclusive first listen. All this and lots more along with extensive track notes.

This is a compilation that will be welcomed by anyone who’s ever thought, to quote Linda Thompson, “I so wish she had recorded a solo album”. Nothing More is a most valuable set, not least in that it brings together under one roof a host of recordings that together could be argued to represent the best, the bulk of the collected Fotheringay, and impeccably presented in the house style of earlier Island/Universal hardcover box-sets including a new authoritative essay by Mick Houghton, along with a copious selection of rare and previously unseen photographs.

The three surviving members of Fotheringay – Jerry Donahue, Gerry Conway and Pat Donaldson are to reunite for 6 UK Tour Dates in June this year with a new exciting line up. Plus: Universal Music catalogue announce the release of a new Four CD Boxset – Nothing More: The Collected Fotheringay, scheduled for release on March 30th 2105.

We are giving away a fantastic folk festival prize bundle: Tickets to Fairport’s Cropredy festival plus 4 classic folk vinyl LP re-presses from John Martyn, Sandy Denny, Richard & Linda Thompson and Fairport Convention.
