Sam Burton has signed to Captured Tracks and announced “Fairweather Friend,” his third solo album, due October 30th. Lead single “I’m A Stranger,” produced by Jonathan Wilson, arrives with a video by Otium. The album began after a car accident and months of solitary writing in Northern California. Burton joins Widowspeak for UK dates this November.

Sam Burton’s ‘Dear Departed’ is a lush and lovely album that speaks to the heart and the soul. Recorded at Jonathan Wilson’s Topanga Canyon studio, they have created dreamscapes seemingly based on old masterpieces from the 70s.

Sam Burton shares his inner-Walden on ‘I Don’t Blame You’, taken from his upcoming album ‘Dear Departed’. “…it’s so important for a writer to have an inner world they can go back to to reconnect with themselves and this song revealed that place to me.”

Having been something of a treasured secret among the musical cognoscenti for the past decade the time has come for Sam Burton to take his overdue place on the wider stage.

Sam Burton is the latest signing to the Tompkins Square label. An exceptional talent hailing from Salt Lake City, now based in Los Angeles, he has just released his first single “I Can Go With You” from his forthcoming album, the video for which premieres on Folk Radio.
