A Seed Of Gold is a formidable album that builds and broadens on the success of Rosie Hood’s debut release. She’s an incredibly adept storyteller, reflected in both the musical arrangements and her choice of tales. This really is something very special.

The Rosie Hood Band announce their new album ‘A Seed of Gold’ and share their lyric video for Lyddie Shears – a song about a shapeshifting Wiltshire witch who could supposedly transform into a hare.

Featuring Andy Cutting, Ríoghnach Connolly & Ellis Davis, Rosie Hood and more, Locations is the result of the efforts of three Liverpool students who drove across the North of England in a red Corsa filled with audio and film equipment to record six musical combinations in six different locations.

Bold Champions is a magnificent release, showcasing traditional, mainly English, folk music at its very best. The Dovetail Trio dare to boldly go where others fear to tread and will surely receive fully-deserved success and plaudits.

Whilst Rosie Hood is no stranger to these pages, this is the first video to be released featuring her trio with Nicola Beazley (fiddle) and Lucy Huzzard (melodeon).  They possess a fresh creative spirit that’s effortlessly conveyed in their music.

On Rosie Hoods ‘The Beautiful & The Actual’ there are songs of “life, and death, love and betrayal, beautiful melodies and hauntingly sad lyrics.” A debut album of pure delight.

Between them The Dovetail Trio, an invigorating new grouping of three proven talents: Matt Quinn, Rosie Hood and Jamie Roberts, have managed to work miracles in terms of creating a highly distinctive style and sound on their debut album Wing of Evening.

We catch up with The Dovetail Trio who aim to present ‘England’s traditional songs with a bold and fresh approach.’ Featuring Jamie Roberts, Rosie Hood and Matt Quinn. They are preparing for the release of their debut album. In the run up to the release, the band will be performing across the UK, including Towersey Festival.

Sheffield based traditional folk singer Rosie Hood is awarded BBC Performing Arts Fellowship to work with EFDSS over the next 12 months to develop her career.
