Set in the beautiful scenery of the Purbeck Hills, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival pulled off another great year with a superb line-up including Eliza Carthy and the Wayward Band, The Goat Roper Rodeo Band, Rory McLeod, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, Villagers, Boo Hewerdine and more.

With a new album ‘The Glee And The Spark’ recently released we catch up with London-born minstrel Rory McLeod whose music is infused with a myriad of influences, from the blues and folk, to flamenco, Latin and calypso.

Purbeck Folk Festival is based on a little sheep farm on the beautiful Jurassic coast of Dorset. Now in its fourth year the attraction, besides a great line-up, is its unspoilt freedom and friendly charm.

‘All Along the Wall’ was an incredible and miraculous project which resulted in an album and show which is deserving of continued resurrection. So the good news is that Boo Hewerdine, Jez Lowe, Julie Matthews, Rory McLeod, Ruth Notman, Kate Fox, Elvis McGonagall and Kate Bramley will reunite for a further three shows in September 2011!
