Robbie Basho

Grass-Tops Recording have announced the release of a two-part book/record on Robbie Basho titled ‘Portrait Of Basho As A Young Dragoon’. It features previously unpublished photographs which are stunning in both quality and clarity.

Every so often an album comes along with a truly original sound. Seven Years Late by 20-year old Texan guitar prodigy Hayden Pedigo is one of those albums. Taking influences from traditional American music to the avant-garde.

We rejoin Arborea on Day 4 of their guest tour blog via Pittsburgh, Harrisburg & Germantown – taking in sound healing, a live show and rising nerves over the Robbie Basho tribute concert.

On August 23rd at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia there is a very special concert taking place featuring artists that have all featured on FRUK: Daniel Bachman, Glenn Jones, Arborea, and Ryley Walker.

One from the vaults, Grass-Tops Recording have digitally restored and mastered the original audio tape of Robbie Basho’s performance of “Omar Khayyam Country” at the ‘Deli Natural Restaurant’ in Cedar Rapids, IA. Download it for free.

The twelve tracks that make up Kyle Fosburgh’s latest release ‘The Traveler’s Journey’ are faultless. From American Primitive to pre-war folk blues this acoustic album will leave you with a beatific smile on your face.

Robbie Basho’s ‘Twilight Peaks’ was originally released on cassette tape in 1984. It has now been picked up and repackaged by a Robbie Basho fan and friend; Glenn Jones and released through Smeraldina-Rima.

Avant-folk duo Arborea are to release their new album, Red Planet, on 26 April this year. The album will also be released as a limited 500 edition LP….with the first 100 being in Translucent Red. Have a listen to it now!
