Ranagri

On Ranagri’s ‘Tradition ii’, the songs are packed with passages in which voices and instruments combine to astound the listener with some of the most attention-grabbing music I’ve heard in a long time.

We talk to Eliza Marshall and Donal Rogers (of Ranagri) about Eliza’s ‘Freedom to Roam: The Rhythms Of Migration’ project, an album and short documentary film exploring the challenges and frustrations of the forbidden freedoms within humanity, the exploitation of land and animals.

With Playing for Luck, Ranagri have reached a sweet patch, four musicians showing a cohesion and confidence that seems to have imbued them with a sense of adventure.

Set in the beautiful scenery of the Purbeck Hills, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival pulled off another great year with a superb line-up including Eliza Carthy and the Wayward Band, The Goat Roper Rodeo Band, Rory McLeod, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, Villagers, Boo Hewerdine and more.

We have the great pleasure of sharing with you the new video for ‘High Germany’ from the London-based 4-piece folk band Ranagri. The track features on their new album ‘Voices’.
