Rab Noakes

What turned out to be Rab Noakes’ final album, ‘Should We Tell Him: Songs by Don Everly’ is a genuine labour of love that should be embraced by fans of Noakes, Brooks Williams and The Everlys alike.

Our Song of the Day is ‘Should We Tell Him’, the title track of the new album from Brooks Williams and Rab Noakes. This was Rab’s final recording… “Hopefully, you’ll catch a glimpse of the vibe of the recording sessions. It was out of this world.”

To mark the 50th Anniversary of The Great Fife Road Show there will be a celebratory show featuring Maureen (Chalmers) Blyth, Davie Craig, Barbara Dickson, Noel Farroe, Cilla Fisher, Jim Herd, Jimmy Hutchison, Brian Miller, Rab Noakes, Davey Stewart and Artie Trezise.

When a musician is at the top of their game, as Rab so clearly is here, the results can be compelling; Welcome to Anniversaryville is an album of pure delight and marks Noakes out as a continuing force for musical good in a sometimes all too cynical and depressing world.

I’m Walkin’ Here is the latest gem from Rab Noakes, featuring new songs, lovingly described as 21st Century skiffle, as well as songs he’s collected for interpretation. Rab is joined by a a great lineup including a stellar array of singers with Roddy Hart, Emma Pollock, Jimmie Macgregor, Barbara Dickson and more.
