On a dark and rainy night in Newport-on-Tay at a Lost Map showcase, gig-goers had their hearts warmed by an evening of eclectic music performed by Pictish Trail, L.T. Leif, and Weird Wave.

Pictish Trail, aka Scottish singer-songwriter Johnny Lynch, has revealed his first new music in three years with new single Far Gone (Don’t Leave). It is the first taste of his new album, due later this year. He’s touring throughout the spring and summer.

The good people at Lost Map Records recorded this lovely session recently featuring Withered Hand, James Yorkston & The Pictish Trail performing ‘Life of Doubt‘ which we’ve chosen as our Song of the Day. They are all on tour together in January.

We start this historic day with our Song of the Day from Johnny Lynch aka The Pictish Trail. Plus Johnny shares his desired third option on Scottish Independence.

We catch James Yorkston’s Album launch for The Cellardyke Recording and Wassailing Society at the Old Queens Head with support from the wonderful Irish singer/songwriter Lisa O’Neill.

The Cellardyke Recording And Wassailing Society is an album replete with delicate, elusive joys and eloquent, autumnal sadness from one of FRUK’s favourite all-time artists James Yorkston.

The Pictish Trail has signed to Moshi Moshi, he’ll be giving his ‘Secret Soundz Vol. 1 and 2’ a full release on June 9th. Download ‘I’ve Been Set Upon’ from Vol. 2 for free.

Fence Records / Fence Collective is to come to an end. But as Johnny Lynch explains…the show will go on!

Seamus Fogarty has hastily put together this behind the scenes video documentary about the sad reality of life on the road with James Yorkston, Pictish Trail. Get their remaining English tour dates.
