Peter Knight and John Spiers head out on their festive tour next month. They will feature some songs and tunes to reflect the season and a generous helping of material from their albums ‘Well Met’ and ‘Both in a Tune’. Not to be missed.

The “Indoor Festival of Folk” is a collaboration between folk/rock band The Magpie Arc and EFDSS and features a stellar lineup of award-winning UK folk artists performing at Cecil Sharp House on Saturday the 3rd of September 2022.

We interview Peter Knight and John Spiers about their new album, Both in a Tune, the excitement of free improvisation, comparing playing to 90 minutes playing as a midfielder and the beauty of being lost in a tune.

Improvisation and invention meet the listener at every turn of ‘Well Met’. Knight and Spiers have created a musical document that should inspire future generations of musicians to engage with Britain’s folk dancing heritage, and the beautiful, mysterious tunes that can be found within that heritage.
