Pauline Scanlon

Last Friday saw the release of Irish singer, Pauline Scanlon’s new album ‘The Unquiet’. It reimagines what it is to be an Irish woman in the context of music and song and it’s the subject of an upcoming documentary on RTE Radio 1.

Taken from her powerful forthcoming album ‘The Unquiet’, watch the accompanying video for Felton Lonnin, the new single from Irish singer Pauline Scanlon. It’s a Northumbrian ballad about a missing child which she sings “to honour the women and children who endured church and state systems of incarceration and separation…”

Our Song of the Day is My Son David, the sublime new single from Dónal Lunny’s Atlantic Arc featuring the man himself and Pauline Scanlon, Jarlath Henderson, Aidan O’Rourke, Sharon Howley, Davie Ryan, Ewen Vernal, Graham Henderson and Pádraig Rynne. Outstanding.

Good Day Señor shows Conor O’Sullivan to be a songwriter and arranger of formidable talent. This accomplished debut is likely to be only the beginning of a highly promising solo phase in his career.

Watch the brilliant video for TG4’s Bosca Ceoil, a brand new Irish music series. This promises to be a great show, presented by Pauline Scanlon feat. trad and contemporary music.

Kyle Carey’s debut album ‘Monongah’ is a gentle delight which brings fresh rewards on each repeat playing. If she can maintain this standard, Carey deserves to be held in the highest esteem.

The second in our Tradition mixes. It features both new and old from an old pub session from 1967 featuring Bobby Casey to Christy Moore, Kris Drever, Kate Rusby, Gavin Davenport and more!
