Taken from their debut album Gin and Strathspey, our Tune of the Day comes from Lyre Lyre featuring ex-Breabach fiddler Patsy Reid, Marit Fält on Nordic mandola and cellist Alice Allen.

Alice Allen and Patsy Reid, two of Scotland’s most in-demand ‘bi-lingual’ Scottish musicians release ‘Strathspey Queens’ today, an album celebrating the work of fiddler and composer and Scottish dancing master, James Scott Skinner.

Sandwood is the latest offering from Duncan Chisholm. It draws its inspiration from a single location in Sutherland, the furthest northwest part of mainland Scotland. This is music in which to immerse ourselves, allow our minds to build our own links and maybe, one day, to visit.

Featuring Nancy Kerr, Martyn Joseph, Sam Carter, Maz O’Connor, Patsy Reid and Nick Cooke, Sweet Liberties are to record an album this Spring which will be performed at Folk by the Oak on 24 July 2016. Watch a video premiere of Maz O’Connor performing Broad Waters.

The Brightest Path is Patsy Reid’s first album released under her own name since 2008. With a core band featuring the likes of Fraser Fifield this has definitely been worth the wait.
