Featuring music from Joseph Allred, Rob Noyes, Jesse Sheppard, Isasa, D.C Cross, Nick Jonah Davis and many more, Buck Curran has curated a stunning tribute to the guitarist Steffen Basho-Junghans. This amount of musical quality and artistic depth is rarely found on one compilation. 

Of all Nick Jonah Davis’s albums, this is my favourite. Not a note is wasted and the whole set hangs together beautifully; it is surprising, patient, spacious and quite mesmerising.

Recorded on the Summer Solstice 2018 at The Church of Sound in Nottingham, solo guitarist Nick Jonah Davis releases a 28-minute electric improvisation as a digital single via Bandcamp.

Led by C Joynes and featuring members of the Dead Rat Orchestra, plus Cam Deas and Nick Jonah Davis, The Borametz Tree is layered and intelligent, finding art and inspiration from many places. This particular result is something that really should be heard.

Nick Jonah Davis hails from Nottingham, England and it was his discovery of prewar blues and modal British folk upon which he began to develop his improvisational skills. The post-Takoma acoustic guitar solo scene then provided a context for his music which might otherwise have remained a private endeavour.
