A unique path for discovering music and London’s hidden spaces, The Nest Collective’s summer series takes you on a worldwide musical journey through the city with carefully curated, unplugged concerts, into those rare hideaways where we can have a big old campfire AND a whole lot of live music.

This coming Saturday, 27th May, UnampliFire returns – With no amplification, no sound checks, no waiting for bands to plug in, UnampliFire celebrates pure continuous music over multiple areas and stages, bringing a historic home to life and allowing audiences a sense of being part of the music.

Two events combine to make a great day: UnampliFire Festival – a festival of listening and music appreciation featuring Martin Carthy, Cosmo Sheldrake, Seckou Keita, Ríoghnach Connolly and more. Plus the Song Collectors Collective Gathering – a celebration of the art of song collecting with insightful talks and more.

The Nest Collective kick off a nautical-themed night onboard the Cutty Sark on 24th September. Shanty Sessions will feature Lisa Knapp, Emily Mae Winters, Ceilidh Liberation Front, City Shanty Band and more.

Is it the gathering of a secret club? Or a living room gig moved to a pub? The Nest Collective evening with Lowpines and Fiona Bevan upstairs in The Old Queen’s Head was a bit of both: exhilaratingly mysterious and affectionate.

The Nest Collective Hour, hosted by Mercury Prize 2012 nominee Sam Lee comes to Folk Radio UK featuring music under the banner of ‘New Folk, Old Folk and No Folk’. Don’t miss it!

The latest Propermusic podcast features Sam Lee and three of his band who will be playing tracks from his new album Ground Of Its Own comprised mainly of songs learned 1st hand by Sam from the Gypsy Traveler community.
