Nadia Reid

Following the release of her fourth album, Enter Now Brightness, in February, New Zealander Nadia Reid delves into the familial and folk shadows of one of music’s most mythologised figures. Reid has released a digital double A-side that goes beyond mere tribute to intergenerational conversation: a cover of Nick Drake’s “Poor Boy” paired, strikingly, with his mother Molly Drake’s spectral retort, “Poor Mum.”

Nadia Reid’s new stand-alone single, ‘Moment By,’ drops ahead of her Glastonbury Acoustic Stage slot on June 27th. Born from strolls through Dunedin’s Chingford Park during the pandemic, reflecting on childhood and a world in flux, it’s a powerful, nostalgic rumination, proving creative sparks can ignite even in the most unexpected times.

Nadia Reid’s ‘Enter Now Brightness’ is an album unfettered by generic pigeonholes and working in complete service to artistic expression. Alongside moments of reflection and introspection, we witness joy, light and a piercing optimism that ruptures this album with vibrant colour.
