After a 2 year hiatus, online Irish alternative music programme This Ain’t No Disco have announced the production of Season II. To raise funds and celebrate the launch, the show will host “This Ain’t No Disco Live” in D-Light Studios, Dublin in September.

Our Song of the Day is “I Courted A Wee Girl” by Irish duo Ye vagabonds. The video is an excerpt from “Seven Songs On Six Islands” a documentary by Myles O’Reilly, filmed during their tour of some of Ireland’s most picturesque islands.

Watch ‘Song Long Forgotten’, the first single from brothers Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn who make up Dublin-based Ye Vagabonds. Their self-titled debut album is due for release on 13th October 2017.

Our Song of the Day is Katie Cruel, performed by Irish folk trio Rue in Dublin’s Fumbally Stables. The trio features Brian Flanagan alongside Cormac Mac Diarmada and Radie Peat of Dublin folk miscreants Lynched.

Glen Hansard has shared the new video for Lowly Deserter, a strong roots driven number that features on his forthcoming album ‘Didn’t He Ramble’. Through the clever use of a house based ‘hedge school’ the video weaves Irelands history and struggles into the story.

Cavan folk singer Lisa O’Neill is to release a new album ‘Same Cloth or Not’ in October followed by a tour Glen Hansard and with James Yorkston in November.
