Some of Scotland’s top traditional musicians, including Kim Carnie, Gary Innes & Ewen Henderson, Hecla, Staran, Norrie MacIver, Megan Henderson, Mary Ann Kennedy, Paul McKenna, Julie Fowlis, and Sian, will be performing at this year’s Blas Festival, celebrating Gaelic music and culture.

Megan Henderson of Breabach joins forces with Moana & The Tribe for their latest single ‘Maiea’, which features lyrics in both Māori and Gaelic. The accompanying video, which features Moana’s daughter, was filmed in New Zealand and Scotland.

Megan Henderson, a member of the award-winning Scottish folk group Breabach, will release her long-awaited solo-debut Pilgrim Souls on 21 January 2022. Listen to her first single, The Dawn Chorus.

Sandwood is the latest offering from Duncan Chisholm. It draws its inspiration from a single location in Sutherland, the furthest northwest part of mainland Scotland. This is music in which to immerse ourselves, allow our minds to build our own links and maybe, one day, to visit.

The very nature of Celtic Connections means there are a wealth of exciting collaborations, formed without much time for rehearsal, and they can be all the more exciting for it. However, when something as carefully planned, and as perfectly executed, as Duncan Chisholm’s The Gathering takes place the results are captivating and memorable.
