Me Lost Me

Me Lost Me – the project of Newcastle-based artist Jayne Dent – delights in experimenting with songwriting, creating a beguiling mix of soaring vocals and atmospheric electronics that playfully push the boundaries of genre. Today, she shares tour dates in support of This Material Moment, which she describes as “emotionally raw” and deems her most honest and vulnerable album yet.

This Material Moment is Me Lost Me’s most personal album yet. On this new release, Newcastle-based Jayne Dent’s songwriting has become both more immediate and more accomplished, with each song existing in its own undeniable present. It’s an alarmingly good album, stormy and intense at one moment, wise and contemplative the next.

Previously described by fellow Newcastle maverick Richard Dawson as beguiling, idiosyncratic and cinematic, watch the accompanying video to ‘Ancient Summer’, the latest single from Me Lost Me, taken from her forthcoming new album, This Material Moment. She says, “The music video is a kind of nod to ancient Roman Spring/Summer festivals and the English folk traditions I grew up with, like May Day celebrations, Morris dancing and well dressings.”

Led by Newcastle-based artist Jayne Dent and taken from their forthcoming new album RPG, watch ME LOST ME’s elemental new video for ‘Festive Day’, featuring folk musician and dancer Mark Insley.
