Folk Radio UK favourites Buck and Shanti Curran, better known as Arborea, recently performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR which you can watch below. They hope to be in the UK later this year so keep your ears open!

The BBC is to feature six new one-hour Radio Ballads in the run up to the 2012 Olympics. The series will feature songs from Jez Lowe, Chris Wood, Martin Simpson, Julie Matthews and Steve Tilston.

‘Orfeo’, the new release from Fay Hield & The Hurricane Party embodies a substance and breadth that is likely to garner much acclaim, and must surely confirm Hield as the Maddy Prior or June Tabor for a new generation of folk connoisseurs.

As part of this year’s Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, Green has co-curated The Folk Forest in Endcliffe Park, a two-day stage featuring Nancy Elizabeth, Rozi Plain, Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Tyde, Phantom Dog Beneath the Moon and many more.

Martin Simpson is to release a new album on September 5th through Topic Records titled purpose + grace. Jon Boden, B J Cole, Dick Gaughan, Fay Hield, Will Pound, June Tabor and Richard Thompson will be joining Martin along with his regular band of Andy Cutting, Andy Seward and Keith Angel.
