With Tom Robinson due to release a new album, his first in 20 years, produced by Gerry Diver and featuring guest contributions from Martin Carthy & Billy Bragg, we were naturally inquisitive. Jon Earl went along to London to catch his ‘rough mix of tunes’. It turned out to be a very memorable evening.

Topic Records are to release an anniversary limited edition of Martin Carthy’s very first solo album released in 1965 on the Fontana label. Re-mastered for 180g audiophile vinyl, it includes the original liner notes and additional illustrative material. It sounds amazing as well!

Eliza Carthy has been appointed an MBE for her services to music. Wonderful timing having just released her first duo with her father Martin who was also appointed an MBE in 1998.

Towersey Festival announce double celebration for their 50 years and 75 Years Of Topic Records with a concert hosted by Norma Waterson, Eliza Carthy and The Gift Band.
