Terry Emm premieres the animated video for his calypso-inspired ‘Island Soul’, the third single to come from his forthcoming album ‘Wish You Were Here’, due out May 19th. It features the sweet vocals of Maz O’Connor and multi-instrumentalist Lukas Drinkwater who also produced the track.

It was a magical ‘socially distanced’ evening at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in the company of one of our finest folk duos: Tobias Ben Jacob and Lukas Drinkwater.

This Old River is built on the strengths of this duo with Tobias’s brilliant songs and his impassioned vocals delivering every nuance. Matching and elevating this is Lukas’s accompaniment – the whole album is beautiful, compassionate and astonishing.

It’s together that Tobias Ben Jakob and Lukas Drinkwater shine brightest, a synergy of two musicians perfectly complimenting each other, bringing to mind the likes of John Martyn and Danny Thompson. An intense and spellbinding performance at The Riverhouse Barn, Walton-on-Thames.

An eclectic group of multicultural musicians, including Lau, Inge Thomson, Julie Murphy, Rachel Taylor-Beales and more, have contributed a digital download album in support of the One Day Without Us campaign which calls for a national day of action on February 20th 2017 in solidarity with migrants and refugees who live, work and study in the UK.

Rob catches up with Tobias ben Jacob shortly after the recording his first solo album, one that sees a shift in his recorded work to date with a bigger band sound and a host of special guests including Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin.

As the title suggests, the component parts form together to create a superbly wrought and finely crafted album, beautifully played by all involved, that is certain to loom large in the end of year folk awards.
