Johnny shares some his many highlights of this year’s FolkEast festival including The Young’uns, Jon Boden, Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys, Martin Carthy, Hughie Jones, Hannah Sanders and Ben Savage, LAU, Dan Walsh, Will Pound, Damien O’Kane and many more.

Running chronologically, the songs and tunes on Decade perfectly illustrate the evolution of LAU’s music over the past ten years which has given rise to a totally unique sound. A great reminder of how unique and inventive they are.

An eclectic group of multicultural musicians, including Lau, Inge Thomson, Julie Murphy, Rachel Taylor-Beales and more, have contributed a digital download album in support of the One Day Without Us campaign which calls for a national day of action on February 20th 2017 in solidarity with migrants and refugees who live, work and study in the UK.

Our Song of the Day comes via a video of Lau and Anais Mitchell performing ‘Dyin’ Day’ which featured on her 2012 album ‘Young Man in America’, an album inspired by the recession and the uncertainty that it brought with it.

Lau have shared two remixes of tracks from their album ‘The Bell That Never Rang’ by composer Richard J.Birkin and London based Songwriter, Electronic musician, and Artist Leafcutter John.

LAU and The Unthanks deliver an unforgettable evening at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, culminating in a 13-piece encore and a standing ovation for all involved.
