Lambchop share ‘Stella’, the second track from ‘Punching The Clown’, their new album due 21st August via City Slang. Guitar and banjo intertwine beneath an omnipresent choir in a state of lush minimalism — the band’s first record in nearly four years, following ‘The Bible’.

Lambchop announce new album Punching The Clown, due 21st August via City Slang — their first in nearly four years. Inspired by lined out singing, an obscure gospel form rooted in late-1800s Scotland and Appalachia, the album frames Kurt Wagner’s songs around guitar, banjo, voice and choir, with Justin Vernon, Andrew Broder and Mark Nevers. Lead single Weakened is out now.

Lambchop and Y La Bamba share poignant new singles from Passages, a benefit compilation out today – December 5th via Western Vinyl. Featuring home-recorded tracks from Dirty Projectors, Daniel Lopatin, and more, the album supports American Gateways and Casa Marianella. These raw recordings highlight the struggle for safe passage and the universal human right to feel at home.

With a band that includes Jim Barr (Portishead) and John Parish along with special vocal guest Kurt Wagner (Lambchop), Maggie Björklund’s new album ‘Shaken’ is a clear winner.

★★★★★ Whilst Lambchops latest release ‘Mr. M’ is a low-key elegiac affair the emotion is revealed in the music. It may be understated but it’s far from underwhelming.
